TWINSBURG (February 12, 2016) – Despite the chilly temperatures, spring is just around the corner and it’s time to consider reserving your Community Garden plot for the 2016 season. Twinsburg Parks and Recreation announced that they will open registration to residents beginning February 23rd. One year plots cost $15 for the first plot and $10 for all additional plots. Several three year plots are also available for residents only. The first plot costs $45 and all additional are $30. Non-residents will have their opportunity to reserve one year plots starting March 14th for $30 with additional plots costing $20. All plots must be reserved at Twinsburg Community Center, 10260 Ravenna Road.
Individuals are encouraged to take advantage of the plots regardless of gardening experience. A little hard work typically leaves gardeners with tons of fresh, homegrown produce. Gates typically open for the season in early May depending on weather.
Plot owners from 2015 can still renew their current plot until February 19th. Failure to renew will make the plot available for purchase on February 23rd. Please note that gardeners who reserved a plot for 2015, but did not plant a garden and the area became filled with weeds and maintained by the City of Twinsburg will not be able to renew the plot until open resident registration.
