[ARCHIVED] Summit County Property Reappraisals

Summit County Property Reappraisals

Ohio law mandates that a sexennial reappraisal be performed (every six years), with the most recent effective in tax year 2020. The Fiscal Office is also required to perform a triennial update at the midpoint of each sexennial reappraisal cycle, which will take place this year (2023).

Since taxes are paid one year in arrears, value changes from the 2023 triennial update will be reflected on tax bills mailed in January 2024. Property owners should have received value change notices via U.S. Mail informing them of their new appraised value. If there is no change in value, property owners will not receive a notice.
Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE invites Summit County property owners to schedule a meeting with an appraiser to discuss their new appraised value. During the meeting, property owners will have the opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns they may have regarding their appraisal value and file an informal complaint. Property owners can meet with an appraiser in one of three ways: virtually, via phone call, or in person at one of the community meeting locations. Please note that property owners are only permitted to schedule one type of meeting.
