The City is experiencing unprecedented times as we work through all the challenges presented by COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Every day the Governor has placed further restrictions on the operation of local businesses and the management of municipal operations. Our goal is to protect our residents and their families from the spread of this virus. I have declared a State of Emergency for the City of Twinsburg. This measure is consistent with County, State and Federal declarations.
In an effort to be proactive in battling the spread of COVID-19, I have issued a 14-day quarantine period for our City employees. We need to take drastic steps to limit contact between employees and their access to the public. This directive is to protect the health of our employees and the City as a whole. We will continue to maintain essential services, Police, Fire-Paramedic, Waste Water and limited Service Department coverage. Many employees have been assigned to work from home or told not to report for work the next two weeks. In response to the Federal Families First Act signed by the President, we have provided our full-time and part-time employees the ability to cover any lost wages during this period.
Please continue to follow all the CDC guidelines and limit your exposure to other people. I am proud of the way our City is responding to this crisis and have faith that we will come out of this a stronger community.
