Public Notice of Available Board & Commission Openings
The City of Twinsburg will be accepting applications for appointment to open boards and commissions. Applications must be received by Wednesday, March 22 , 2024 by 4:30 pm to be considered. Twinsburg residents are invited to apply for appointment to the following position and must present the qualifications set forth for the position:
ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD – TWO OPENINGS
Must be a resident of the City of Twinsburg holding no other public office in the municipality. Appointment by Council for a three-year term ending 3/31/27. Meetings are held the first and third Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm.
BOARD OF TAX REVIEW – TWO OPENINGS
Must be a resident of the City of Twinsburg holding no other public office in the municipality. Two members shall be appointed by the legislative authority of the City of Twinsburg, but such appointees may not be employees, elected officials, or contractors with the City at any time during their term or in the five years (which applies only to these two appointments) immediately preceding the date of appointment. One member shall be appointed by the Mayor. This member may be an employee of the City, but may not be the director of finance or equivalent officer, or the Tax Administrator or other similar official or an employee directly involved in municipal tax matters, or any direct subordinate thereof. Appointment by Council to fill the two year term ending 3/31/26.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BOARD –WARDS 3 & 4
Must be a qualified elector of the City of Twinsburg residing in Wards 3 or 4. Appointment by Council for a two-year term ending 3/31/26. Meetings are held in August and September annually.
CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION – ONE MEMBER
Must be a qualified elector of the city of Twinsburg residing in the City of Twinsburg and hold no other city office or appointment. Appointment by Council for a three year term ending 3/31/27. Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 8:30 am.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION – FOUR OPENINGS
Must be a resident of the City of Twinsburg in any ward. Appointment by Council for a two-year term ending 3/31/26. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of February, March, April, May, September and October with planned events throughout the year.
JEDI COMMISSION – SEVEN OPENINGS
Must be a qualified elector of the City of Twinsburg residing in wards three, four and five. Appointment by Council for a two-year term ending 3/31/26. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 6:00 pm.
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION – WARDS 3, 4 & 5
Must be a resident of the City of Twinsburg residing in Wards three, four or five. Appointment by Council for a two-year term ending 3/31/26
Meetings are held the fourth Thursday of February, April, May, August and October. Other meeting dates to be added as needed along with other planned events throughout the year.
